I
am a stay at home mom with three children and a husband. I have
my own decorating business called Serene Surroundings that I do
from home. I came up with this idea when my son Joshua was looking
through my jewelry box and found a rock. He said, "Can I keep
this in my pocket so I can always have a piece of you with me."
Later on that night, my daughter, Gabrielle was holding a picture
of me under her pillow for the same reason. I thought it was so
touching that they wanted to always have a part of me with them.
I then started drawing pictures of ways that they and other kids
could have a part of their loved ones and came up with "Pieces
of Me by Cindy" puzzle charms. Everybody I show it to loves
the idea and has a different way of distributing it. One bride said
this would be great for my bridesmaids. One young lady said this
would be great for my friends when they go to college. It is interesting
to see what people come up with. In my family, all the girls have
a piece of my heart, my mother, sister, sister-in-law, niece, and
daughter. And I also have another heart which I gave to my sons,
daughter, husband and dog! After doing some research I found out
that the Autistic Foundations logo is puzzle pieces and my best
friend's daughter struggles with this, which makes it even more
dear to me. I have a link on this website if you would like to buy
puzzle items from their foundation. After hearing stories of how
people are distributing their pieces, I was very touched. I decided
to spread the love beyond the 6 and have buyers tell me what charity
they support and I would donate $50 to that charity. I had a soldier
donate to Wounded Warriors and a woman with cancer donate to the
American Cancer Society. Thank you all for your support
